Esther Wong
Clinical Psychologist
Esther Wong is a Clinical Psychologist. She completed her Bachelor of Science (Psychology) at the University of New South Wales and her Master of Psychology (Clinical Psychology) at University of Wollongong.
During and since her postgraduate training, she has worked in university clinics, children & adolescent community mental health services, hospital specialist clinics, adult community mental health service and non-government agencies. She has been working in private practice since 2014.
Esther has experience in providing assessment and treatment to adults and adolescents with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder. She provides therapy to people with issues involving relationships, life transition & adjustment, grief & loss, parenting, cultures and family dynamics. Her area of interest is perinatal anxiety and depression. She provides support and psychological services to new or expectant parents who experience mental health issues. She has worked with a diverse range of cultural backgrounds over the years. Esther is bilingual and is able to provide therapy to people from Chinese communities including both Cantonese and Mandarin speakers.
Her therapy approach includes Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. She helps clients identify their goals in therapy and uses an evidence-based approach to help clients develop change and to achieve their treatment goals.
She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, a Medicare Provider and an accredited WorkCover psychologist.
